We love it when we’re right.
Dick (aka as Richard Bergstrom) and I expend massive amounts of energy trying to convince peers that each one of us has meaning and significance. We launched Re-Ignite for that reason: To encourage leading edge Boomers in discovering their passion and purpose in life. We write, speak, cajole, and on some occasions, beg people to consider their life’s calling. We believe when individuals who understand the power of their own destiny unite, we will see an entire generation engaged and changing the world!
Jane Pauley agrees. In Your Life Calling, released on January 7, 2014, this respected broadcast journalist issues a clarion call to her generation. It confirms our convictions.
Boomers, we have a second chance. Jane calls it a “do-over.” We are experiencing a new stage of life never seen before in history. We can re-imagine new endeavors, new missions, new opportunities, and new ministries!

In her closing paragraphs, Jane sums it up:
We are not the Greatest Generation, but we aren’t merely the biggest generation either. I think we’re going to be the ‘luckiest generation’ because we’re the reinvention generation. We’ve been given a second chance—to do the thing we’d always wanted to do, or never had a chance before to do, or never imagined we could. I think of these as our ‘trying times,’ a time to try new things, and maybe even a time to try big things. Maybe we’ll confound everyone and redeem our youthful promise yet. As Tony Tata put it, ‘We’re facing some challenges in this country. If we don’t cowboy up, who will?
May I add, if we as Christian Boomers don’t step up to bring good news of the gospel to a needy world, who will? It is time to look at our individual lives, our experience, skills, gifts, strengths, and passions, and follow our life calling.
