by Leona Bergstrom, Director, Re-Ignite
Last week I sat on my deck and devoured a new book in one afternoon. My life and response to God’s calling may never be the same. In Restless: Because You Were Made for More, author Jennie Allen shares a message that resonates in my heart.
It also echoes the purpose and mission of Re-Ignite.
I can tell you that at the end of our lives, when we stand before God, these are the only things that will matter:
- Did I do what God wanted me to be doing while I was here?
- Did I complete the works he had for me?
- Did I fulfill my purposes in my generation?
So instead of waiting until we’re standing in God’s throne room, let’s work backward and ask those questions now. Let’s live them today. Not for a salvation that can be earned, but in response to a God who built and rescued us as a part of his great purpose. If you are willing he will lead you.
What is God calling you to do?
- Will you start a nonprofit?
- Will you start a Bible study in your office?
- Will you pursue a career as an accountant?
- Will you adopt a child?
- Will you start an art program at your local school?
- Will you run for office?
- Will you start ministering in a nursing home?
- Will you coach a Little League team?
- Will you design homes?
- Will you move to Africa?
- Will you start a movement to end slavery?
- Will you take care of your dad, who is ill?
- Will you go on a short-term mission trip?
- Wil you write a book?

What passion is God re-igniting in your heart today? What is your purpose for this season of life?
Let’s dream together!
